Equipment
•
Alpine touring skis* or snowboard (split-board
preferred) or telemark skis* (with bindings)
•
Alpine or randonée ski boots or stiff-soled,
over-the-ankle telemark boots (plastic or leather)
• Ski poles (no bamboo; adjustables are
nice but not necessary)
• Backpack (3-4,000 cubic inches)
Clothing & Accessories
• Warm ski hat and baseball cap or other
sun hat
• Warm ski gloves and lighter gloves for
hiking
• Sunglasses and goggles
• Synthetic long underwear top and bottom - wear one set and bring an extra set
• Fleece sweater or jacket
• Vest of some kind for hiking
• Storm Jacket (Goretex, waterproof)
• Down jacket
• Windpants or ski pants
• Cotton shirt and sweat pants or similar
for apres-ski comfort
• Clean pair of socks for each day
• Water bottle or Camelbak
(with winter kit to prevent freezing)
• Headlamp or flashlight
• Toiletries (keep small and light): Sunscreen and lip balm, toothbrush and paste, comb/brush, baby wipes
• Earplugs
• Camera (optional)
• Camp booties for apres ski (down booties with tread are preferable)
Unguided parties need to supply their own:
• Sleeping bag
• Food and drink (we supply plenty of snow
to melt for water!)
• First aid kit
• Repair kit for bindings and other equipment
• Emergency kit (in case of bivouac or
evac)
• Map and compass, altimeter, GPS
* Can be rented locally and we can make those arrangements for you.
Remember,
THINK LIGHT. Even if you hire a porter, every
pound counts!
